When Drake opened his OVO store in LA many knew that the opening day turnout was going to be impressive but few knew just how impressive the crowd would get. In fact the crowd for Drake’s new store may be even bigger than the one that the Apple Store had when the iPhone series was released. According to sources the OVO store will carry everything from $40 t-shirts to shoes which could run $250 or even higher. Darnell Ferris talked about the store opening with CBC News and it was obvious that Ferris was a Drake fan when he revealed a tattoo on his right shoulder of the OVO brand. Ferris discussed the tattoo and said “It’s not just a brand name, it’s a trademark. It’s a lifestyle. It’s sort of a vibe, that’s what makes him really different.”
A news source talked about promotions for the new OVO store and stated “In a series (two so far) of new ads for his OVO merch store, Drake tells a story without ever saying anything. The ads look like the start of a horror movie, maybe a psychological thriller, in which the hero becomes the villain, or the man has been missing the entire time, or everything is a dream.” The website for Drake offers an LA Dodgers Limited Edition shirt which has been dedicated to the OVO Flagship store, with the signature owl that Drake is known for visible in the A in the LA Dodgers logo. The hours for the flagship store are 11 am until 8 pm on Monday through Saturday. O Sundays the shop is open from non until 6 pm. The store will be open on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve from 11 am until 4 pm, but it will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day.
