Last night at the MTV VMAs Drake and Rihanna shared a kiss that lit the world on fire. We’ve all been watching this undercover couple for years, and wondering if they were ever going to take it public.
Rihanna received the Video Vanguard award last night at the VMAs, and Drake was the one to present it to her.
During his speech at the presentation Drake announced that he has been in love with Rhi Rhi since he was 22 years old.
The whole audience, and the internet, completely flipped at this information because we have been waiting on it for so long. Then to make it even more exciting, Drake kissed Rihanna as she accepted her award. Through this lovefest there was one person that wasn’t thrilled to hear the news, and that was Nicki Minaj.
Drake and Meek Mill have had beef for the last several months and this situation is just going to add fuel to the fire. Already, at after parties last night, artists are showing their loyalties and Chris Brown was photographed with Mill. This situation is going to really spin out of control over the next few weeks.
Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She’s finally mine. :)
Nobody understands Minaj’s jealousy, but if Drake and Rhi Rhi get engaged, does that meant that Minaj and Mill will walk down the aisle first? No matter what happens between these love birds, the world supports a Drake and Rihanna wedding, even if Minaj doesn’t. Don’t worry Nicki you have Mill, and you shouldn’t be worried about Drake.
Meek Mill is opening up about his Drake beef, and the fact that many people think he took an L in the feud. Mill was interviewed by Charm La’Donn from MyMixtapez, and Meek let it be known that he does not care about what other people think. When discussing how the public reacted when Mill exposed the fact that Drizzy used a ghostwriter on R.I.C.O. Meek said “Last year and the position I was in, people was like going in a wave of I was actually losing, but life was good and sometimes the Internet is kind of uncontrollable where people go with their own ways.” Mill accused Drake last July, saying that Drizzy had used a ghostwriter, Quentin Miller, and did not write his own verses. Along the way somehow DJ Drama and Funkmaster Flex from Hot 97 also got involved, but later Drama said he did not leak the reference tracks and had nothing to do with the situation.
Many suspect that Nicki Minaj also played a role in the feud although not directly. It was no secret that the Toronto rapper and the Young Money Barbie were close friends until she hooked up with Mill, and this could be a reason for some of the bad blood between the two men. As the Meek-Drizzy feud escalated Drake released a number of diss tracks aimed at Meek Mill in rapid succession while Mill only released a single diss track in return called Wanna Know. This one track seemed to take a long time for Mill to create, and it didn’t generate the same excitement. Soon the internet was full of jokes about Mill, and he was seen as a laughing stock.
During the interview with La’Donn Mill made it clear that the theatrics of the Drake feud does not bother him and that he still lives a very good life. “My son is five years old, just turned five years old the other day. He’s speaking French, If you call that losing, I don’t know what you call that. That’s like me going on Draymond Green or Steph Curry’s comments and putting up an L.” As for the much anticipated album Dreamcatchers 4 Meek explained “If I got five dollars for somebody asked me every time when DC4 comes out I’d probably have $5 million right now; It’s a mixtape slash album, basically. This mixtape right here is my reintroduction for the people that doubted me.”
So far Drake is winning the feud with Meek Mill, but Mill just won’t give up and is keeping the beef going. A remix of All The Way Up was released by Remy Ma and Fat Joe that included a verse from Jay-Z, a rare occurrence. With days a new remix of the track was released by Meek Mill and Fabulous, and the song takes obvious shots at the Toronto rapper and brings their feud back once more with the same previous accusations that Drizzy does not write his own tracks but uses a ghostwriter instead.
The track includes the verses “Views from the projects, n-gga I’m the prospect. This is hip-hop, you ain’t write it don’t record it/ I don’t know how they getting down across the border.” It will be interesting to see Drake’s response, if he even bothers to respond at all.
The Internet is buzzing with the fact that Nicki Minaj loves Drake’s new album Views, but Minaj won’t tell the Toronto rapper this because she is putting Meek Mill first and has cut off any communication at all with Drizzy in order to focus on her relationship with Mill. Many speculate that this relationship is what caused a rift between Drake and Minaj in the first place and that Mill feels threatened by the fact that Drake is a superior rapper. The so called Barbie and the 6 god were very close in the past as videos and musical collaborations show, but ever since the feud started between Drake and Meek Mill Minaj has had to choose a side and is basically caught in the middle in the tug of war between the two rappers.
A source close to Nicki Minaj explained that “Nicki is aware that Drake still has love for her but she had to cut all the communication off, largely to protect her relationship with Meek. She had to pick a side and she chose her man’s. Meek and Drake were going at it way too hard dissing one another and she was caught in the middle. She had no choice but to stop talking to Drake. They will always be cool but Nicki is committed to Meek. That’s her man and quite possibly the love of her life.”
During a recent OVO Sounds Radio interview with Zane Lowe Drake also talked about his relationship with Nicki Minaj. The Toronto rapper explained that he understood why she choose her man over him, but in Keep the Family Close you can hear the pain that Drizzy is in because of this choice when he raps “And it’s all because you chose a side/You’re supposed to put your pride aside and ride for me/Guess it wasn’t time/And of course you went and chose a side that wasn’t mine.”
During the interview Drizzy told Zane “I always have respect and love for Nicki. I don’t really talk to Nicki. Again, another person that I have a lot of love for and a lot of respect, not only for our past and how much work and time we put in, but even just the way she dealt with the situation at hand. I understand what love is, and I understand a personal situation. She dealt with me how I would expect her to, which was with class, and I could only ever do the same …There were points in time where I was waiting to see like, how is this going to go, how deep is your love, you know?”
Drake’s latest album Views contains at least one suspected diss towards Meek Mill to keep the feud between the two rappers going strong, and an anonymous source has reported that Mill plans to fight back with his own mixtape in order to get revenge. In the past Meek has made accusations that Drizzy needed a ghostwriter to come up with the songs that he created but Drake came back with two tracks which were epic in the way that they dissed Mill. When Meek tried to respond to these tracks with a revenge track of his own no one was impressed and Mill was mocked mercilessly, with some saying the Philadelphia rapper’s material was weak sauce.
In Hype it is clear that Drake is talking about Mill when he raps “I don’t run out of material/You shouldn’t speak on me period/You try to give your side of the story/They heard it/But they weren’t hearing it.” During an interview a source that refused to be named told the media that “Drake may think he’s sitting pretty and on top of the game with Views but Meek’s preparing to knock him down real fast. He’s heard the album and it’s not on fire the way Drake thinks it is. Meek’s been at the crib, writing a series of new songs for a mixtape he’s planning on dropping once he’s off house arrest and it’s going to murder Drake’s album.”
Another point of friction between the Toronto rapper and Meek could be the buzz going around online that Nicki Minaj is already big fan of Views. As her man this must make Meek angry, especially since he is on house arrest and can’t go anywhere. If this is true and Minaj is already a Views fan then the track Keep The Family Close must be painful to hear as Drizzy talks about their past friendship with the lyrics “And it’s all because you chose a side/You’re supposed to put your pride aside and ride for me/Guess it wasn’t time/And of course you went and chose a side that wasn’t mine.” It will be interesting to see what Mill can come up with on the new mixtape to try and diss Drake.
Nicki Minaj has a secret that she is keeping from her #1 man Meek Mill, and the secret is about Drake and his new album Views From the 6. Minaj has to be careful because her main squeeze and Drizzy have been feuding for some time now, and it is no secret that the Toronto rapper and the Philadelphia rapper have no love lost between them. The secret that Minaj is keeping is how much she loves Views because if Mill knew he would go crazy with jealousy. In order to hear the album and keep the peace Nicki listens when Meek is not around. It is no secret that Nicki and Drake have a past and were close friends, and that there is still love between the two, but Minaj has chosen to stand by her man even if that means listening to Views From the 6 in private when Mill is gone.
One source close to Nicki Minaj told a reporter that the Young Money Barbie could not get enough of Views From the 6. “Nicki’s ear has been all glued to Drake’s album, and she loves it. She couldn’t stop bobbing her head to some of the songs on Views. She thinks that Drake’s so talented. Every time he grabs the mic something epic comes out, and she couldn’t be prouder. She was so excited to listen to his new album that she didn’t do it anywhere in Meek’s presence. That would have made him so jealous and Nicki didn’t want that. She’d never admit this, but she thinks Drake is a far more superior rapper than her own man. But that’s on the super, super down low.”
Since Drake disses Mill in at least one track on Views From the 6 it is probably fair to say that if Meek found out his girl was always listening to the album this would cause friction in the relationship between Nicki and Meek. Some are already speculating that when Mill finally gets off house arrest he will retaliate with some diss tracks of his own on a mixtape. The fact that Drake said he will “always love and respect her” when talking about his relationship with Nicki Minaj just added fuel to the flames of the feud between the rappers.
The feud between Meek Mill and Drake is like the energizer bunny, it just keeps going and going with no sign of an end in sight. Some are saying that the feud will be Vietnam for Mill after the rapper took what is believed to be another jab at Drake in a recent song. A YouTube user captured an unreleased track that Meek Mill performed during a recent show when he was promoting his soon to be released album Dreamchasers, and the lyrics include some threatening verses that could wind up causing Mill even more grief since he is facing a court date for probation violation.
The lyrics include the verses “When I was saying sh*t about the rhymes you ain’t wrote / I can’t wait ’til we run in ya / I’m a put a gun in ya.” This definitely sounds like a threat of violence to many people, and sources from Mill’s inner circle were quick to tell TMZ that the song was not intended to reference Drizzy. Since Meek has to be back in court early in the new year to face a judge over the probation violation charges he can not afford to have any of his lyrics misconstrued as a threat or advocating violence. If Mill is found guilty he could be facing jail time so the rapper would be wise to keep quiet at this point in time. Meek has enough on his plate already.
Earlier this year the feud between Drake and Meek Mill was legendary, with enough drama for a teenage girl and plenty of lyrics on both sides. It looks like Drake came out on top though, because his diss track titled Back to Back received a Grammy nomination for the 2016 award in the category fr Best Rap Performance. The Grammy nomination leaves no doubt at all that Drake not only won the feud he buried Meek Mill in his dust.
Some suspect that the beef between Drake and Meek Mill became so serious is because both men have a connection to Nicki Minaj. Drake and Minaj have been BFFs for a long time, while Meek Mill is dating the pink print singer and is a support act for her tour. Drake makes note of this fact in his Back to Back track, asking “Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?”
Meek Mill tried to hit back with a diss track of his own called Wanna Know but this track was not well received at all. 2015 has been a terrific year for Drake, with his Hotline Bling single becoming very popular very fast. Drake also recently opened a flagship OVO store in Los Angeles. The feud between the rappers started when Meek commented on social media “Stop comparing drake to me too … He don’t write his own raps!” Since Meek Mill was not named for a Grammy nomination and Drake was it just shows that Drizzy has come out on top in this feud.
Being Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend is apparently not enough to occupy Meek Mill, and on Thursday he was slammed for a second time this week by Drake fans who are demanding an apology again. Lately social media just seems to get Mill in hot water. After Mill posted a Facts quote again this week on his account on Instagram fans were quick to respond in a very negative manner. Ever since Mill lost the feud with Drake things have been going down hill. Mill posted a quote image on Thursday December 3 which read “By staying strong in your convictions, you will prevail.”
Everything began on July 21 when a public diss by Mill was made against Drake on Twitter. In the diss Meek stated that he should not be compared with Drake because Drake doesn’t write his own songs. Drake hit back with Back to Back and Charged Up, and the beef has been strong ever since. On Tuesday Mill posted an integrity quote that riled up some Drake fans. One fan responded with “Lol your the one that started the beef with Drake. Drake didn’t want to beef with you but you force him to respond.. And now you posting this message?! Smh check yourself bruh.. Your the one that tried to bully a singing n—- because you thought you can win, now look at you, got bodied lol..,”
The very same Tuesday it appears that Rick Ross also took a jab at Drake in Color Money. On Thursday Meek Mill posted an image of the Black Market album from Rick Ross, the album with Color Money on it, and fans were quick to criticize Mill once more. One fan stated “Not in this lifetime meek, you have to reconcile with what you did or else karma will not be kind. You did wrong, that is why it is still bugging you and you’re fighting to prove yourself once again. This is just an opinion.” Another was just as biting with the comment “Meek … Just go head and apologize to Drake and Wale , so you can finally sleep at night …”
It is no secret that there is beef between Drake and Meek Mill, which all started earlier this year when Mill trashed Drizzy for not writing all of his own lyrics. Drake shot back with two tracks that dissed Mill and the fight has been on ever since. Tuesday Meek Mill posted an Instagram quote that riled up many Drake fans and even some fans of Mill himself. According to the quote from Mill ”No matter how educated, talented, rich or cool you believe you are, how you treat people ultimately tells all. Integrity is everything.” a lot of people believe that the quote is aimed at Drizzy bu it is possible that the quote was directed in an entirely different direction as well because Mill has had a beef with Wale, who is a label mate of the rapper, for several months now as well.
Drake fans were quick to take offense at Mill’s Instagram quote and many responded with comments that were anything but supportive. One Drake fan commented “How this ni*** gone talk about integrity when he came at Drake just because he didn’t tweet about his album and got clowned in the process. Then come at his own label mate telling him he ain’t MMG no more like he’s ceo or something.” On the official Instagram page for Meek Mill another quote also drew many negative comments. Meek stated “True teams are made when you put aside individual wants for collective good.” Even this quote was quickly bashed and targeted, with one Drake fan writing “Meek sorry man but you f***ing suck I think your career is gonna start to go down.”
