Drake has been spending some time in Johannesburg, South Africa, where the rapper from Toronto has been spotted in a number of places. Drizzy recently visited the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory in the city and he had some words of encouragement for young people in the country. There was a crowd of young people waiting when Drake arrived. Before giving a speech to the crowd Drizzy toured the centre with members of Mandela’s family and Minister to the Presidency Radebe. After the private tour the rapper addressed the crowd in the auditorium, telling them “I encourage you to do everything that you can to make the future here as bright as you possibly can. We’re all young. We all have some end goal or some dream.”
Drake had a guest appearance on the Maya & Marty, the new variety show from NBC that features Maya Rudolph and Martin Short. One segment of the show has Martin Short as celebrity interviewer Jiminy Glick, and he was interviewing the Toronto rapper. During the interview Short, as Jiminy Glick, was brutally honest and told Drake “You’re a Canadian former child star, so literally we’re talking about 0 street cred.” Luckily it was all in jest and Drake has a good sense of humor. The video of the short can be found online.

Drake released a new video advertisement for Strapped condoms. It’s seems like an appropriate message seeing the fact that the recent trend of songs have a sexual theme such as “Every Girl” and “Best I Ever Had”. Let us know what you think.
BET has expressed remorse over a performance by Lil Wayne, Drake and Young Money Records that involved underage girls during songs “Best I Ever Had” and “Every Girl.”

Just in, Digital distributor TuneCore claims rapper Drake has sold nearly 300,000 song downloads on iTunes in two weeks, which it says is a record for a DIY artist (i.e. one without a label).
The success appears to be fuelled by his single Best I Ever Had. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, though. Last month, someone uploaded an unauthorised Drake album to iTunes, Rhapsody and Amazon, and it became the 16th best selling digital album in the US that week.
At least now, the sales are for the kosher product. Drake is doing his thing!
