Tyga recently gave a sit down interview with Shay Diddy for 106 KMEL and the rapper talked about his past including the previous beef that he had with Drake. Tyga cites miscommunication as the reason for the beef and explained that the media just made things worse and added more fuel to the beef fire. The beef started in 2014 when Tyga was interviewed as the feature for the cover of the Vibe October 2014 edition. During the 2014 interview Tyga used the word fake to refer to Drake and that set Drizzy off. The rapper from Toronto responded to the Tyga slight with the song 6PM in New York, and the lyrics “I heard a little little homie talking reckless in Vibe / That’s quite a platform you chose, you should’ve kept it inside / Oh, you tried / It’s so childish calling my name on the world stage / You need to act your age and not your girl’s age.” This just caused more bad blood between the two artists.
In the latest Tyga interview with Shay Diddy Tyga explained the past beef with Drake and said “It was really never no problem. It was miscommunication. It was media. And then once you get into the petty game, it’s like, ‘Alright, let’s just be petty all day.’ But you know, it was more like media and stuff.” Tyga continued by discussing the different paths followed by the two artists, saying “And then I think over time, people grow apart. You don’t know what the other side is feeling,” he continued on. “You don’t know what he talking about. You don’t know what she talking about. You just lose that communication with somebody. It’s all about conversation and communication. Everything these days is misled.” Tyga and Drake eventually buried the beef but not before they spent months throwing shade at each other.
