An announcement made by Drake in February let everyone know that Drizzy had signed on to the Boy Better Know Label, and Skepta recently clarified some of the details about the contract and the agreement between Drizzy and the Skepta BBK label. During an interview with Time Out Magazine for the London edition Skepta made the point that the contract Drake signed with BBK is completely separate from the Cash Money deal that Drizzy has. The UK artist explained that “We’re putting together an official worldwide BBK label but we haven’t talked about how it’ll work yet. It’ll be separate to his existing contracts. Trust me, I am not gonna sue Lil Wayne.”
It is clear that Drake has an allegiance towards the BBK crew and the Toronto rapper has unveiled a BBK tattoo. In the interview Skepta also discussed meeting Diddy and how things went south, saying “Me and Diddy went to a pool party.
I tried pushing this girl into the water and this guy comes over: ‘Don’t touch my girl!’ I end jumping out of the pool to fight him. Diddy was like: ‘Skepta, man, just chill!’ But I go: ‘Nah! Who does this guy think he is?’ He’s probably thinking: ‘I’ve seen this crazy shit before [with Biggie]. People die from this shit.’ He didn’t stay in touch. I’ve changed a lot since then.” Maybe Drake will have a calming influence on the British artist as well.
