President Obama Picks Kendrick Lamar as Rap Battle Winner and Drake Offers the Perfect Response

When President Obama chose Kendrick Lamar as the rap battle winner over Drake the Canadian rapper  decided to use a single track from his upcoming Views From the 6 album to hit back. In the song Summer Sixteen Drizzy is heard rapping to “Tell Obama that my verses are just like the whips that he in, they bulletproof”. During a Q and A on YouTube on January 15, 2016 Obama was asked to answer the question “If Drake and Kendrick Lamar got in a rap battle, who do you think would win?” The President of the United States responded by saying “I’m just saying. I think Drake is an outstanding entertainer, but Kendrick, his lyrics — his last album was outstanding. Best album, I think, last year.”

It is no surprise that Obama chose Lamar over Drake as a rap battle winner, Lamar has recently spent time at the White House and even posed images of himself with Obama when the two were working on improving communities in the inner city areas. It is also no secret that Obama’s favorite 2015 song was the track How Much a Dollar Cost off the To Pimp a Butterfly album by Kendrick. Many believe that Obama is based towards Kendrick and that is why he chose Lamar as the winner of the hypothetical rap battle instead of Drake. Drizzy can be smug at having the last laugh though, because The Richest reports that Drake is worth $100 million while Kendrick is worth just $20 million.
