Drake throws first pitch and you’re out! Everywhere he goes Drake reps for his town of Toronto, but this weekend Cleveland Indian fans will be able to take themselves a picture when he’s standing at the mound. On Friday July 22 Drizzy will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at Progressive Field when the Tribe takes on their division rivals the Chicago White Sox.
Then on July 23, the Young Money/Cash Money soldier will be celebrating the city of Cleveland’s 215th birthday at the Ohio Homecoming. The birthday celebration has been known to draw crowds of up to 10,000 in the past and this year should be no different as Drake will headline a concert, which will also reunite hometown favorites Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. “They ain’t seen us, all five, since Flesh came out [of prison in 2008],” Bizzy Bone told MTV News. “We ain’t been able to really put on a showcase for ’em, and this is a beautiful platform. It’s gonna be thousands and thousands and thousands of people there, and it’s Cleveland’s birthday.”
BTNH also spoke on Drake’s decision to go on with the performance despite his uncle’s passing a week ago. “His uncle just passed away and he had to cancel a performance to fly up there to take care of his uncle and all of the business that goes around that,” Bizzy Bone said. “I was speaking with the promoters and the promoters were like, ‘He’s still doing this show.’ The brother is classy and I’m very grateful and thankful to know that in this industry those ones still exist.” -via MTV
