Reps for Drake have denied allegations that the Canadian hip-hop phenom cheated Ericka Lee — a woman who claims to be both his ex-girlfriend and the co-writer of his hit ‘Marvin’s Room’ — out of songwriting royalties, TMZ reports.
“This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct,” reads the statement.
While Drake reportedly offered her 4 to 5 percent of the publishing, plus $50,000, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Lee filed suit, insisting she be declared co-writer of the popular track. Rather than settle, the ‘Take Care’ creator seems ready to prove his case.
Drake’s reps say:
“This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct. Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now looks forward to being vindicated in court.”
