Drake is back with the premier of a brand new Aaliyah assisted single called “Talk Is Cheap”. Listen to Drake & Aaliyah’s “Talk Is Cheap” song here first and let us know what you think of the song below after streaming it.
The marching band for Southern University recently performed Drake’s Controlla, and the band did it very well. Drizzy can rest assured that he is one of the most popular musical artists right now and that his album Views has been widely recognized. The band, also frequently called the Human Jukebox, added some saxophone and trumpets to the hit track and the performance was flawless.
The choreography of the Dancing Dolls was impeccable and the Toronto rapper would be proud of their glove covered jazz hands. Drizzy is not the only star whose music has been performed by the marching band either. Father Stretch My Hands by Kanye West, Run This Town by Jay Z, and I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys have been performed in the past. These band members show that they definitely have style.
Two separate videos, included above and below, surfaced online on Wednesday (Aug. 17) catching what sounds like unreleased Drake music being played at some type of function. Up top, Drizzy is still grappling with trust issues, while below, he’s more on island time. Where these tracks came from, where they’ll end up or whether they’re even complete or not is anyone’s guess, but Drake has been known to keep reference tracks and demos, so it’s possible these are from past recording sessions or previous moments in the Drake music timeline.
Drake has a very extensive discography, with a wide range of genres and styles to his credit, but there are some songs that you probably did not realize were written by the Toronto rapper because they are performed by other artists. 6 songs that were actually written by Drizzy include:
1. Melania Fiona – I’ve Been That Girl
When the 6 God was still just a struggling artist working on DeGrassi High and making the show into a cult hit this wasn’t all he was doing. Drake also performed as part of The Renaissance, a group that created music. The band did not go anywhere but “I’ve Been That Girl” did. Drizzy co-wrote the song with Melania Ford, who performs it on her LP The Melania Ford Life.
2.Kanye West- Facts, 30 Hours, and Father Stretch My Hands
Life of Pablo, the 7th studio album by Kanye West, includes credit to Drake for songwriting but many may have missed this fact. The album lists Drizzy as a co-writer for the tracks Facts and 30 Hours. A tweet from West gave praise to the Toronto rapper, stating , “I wanna thank my brother Drizzy for helping me on 30 Hours & Father Stretch My Hands. Drake would come by and just help, no strings. Future also came by to write. We all got new shit together that’s gonna drop soon.”

In the beginning songstress Rita Orr needed tracks to gain attention and make her an international sensation in the world of pop music, and Drake came to the rescue by co-writing R.I.P. Some speculated that Drizzy intended the track for Ri-Ri but Orr said that this was not true in a Sunday Times interview in 2012. “R.I.P. wasn’t written for Rihanna. But even if it was played to her, I don’t care. As soon as I heard it, I said it was mine. I was going to fight for that song.”
The 6 God and Queen Bey wrote Mine together, with some help from Majid Jordan and Noah “40” Shebib of the OVO crew. This track was featured on the self titled album that Beyonce released in 2013 and it became a big hit.
5. Alicia Keys- Un-thinkable (I’m Ready)
Many do not realize that the hit 2010 album The Element of Freedom released by Alicia Keys contains Drake’s influence in the track Un-thinkable (I.m Ready). When discussing this hit that he co-wrote Drizzy explained to BET “It is [about Minaj], I’m not gonna lie …The concept came from a conversation that we had, or conversations we have. I wrote it based off two things: Number one, based off that, and then two, based off Alicia and Swizz and their situation, and it just seemed fitting. It was like the perfect concept.”
6.Jamie Foxx- Fall For Your Type
Jamie Foxx was so impressed when he heard the track Drake wrote called Fall For Your Type that the actor and singer decided to re-record the song and make it into a single on his fourth album Best Night of My Life. Many do not realize that Foxx is a singer as well as an actor, and he does Drizzy’s track justice.
PartyNextDoor has his latest album set to release next month on August 12, PARTYNEXTDOOR 3, and the artist has given fans a sample with audio of the track Not Nice. This single is a follow up to the song Come and See Me by Drake, and on the track Party discusses dealing with a rude gal. The album soon to be released includes the Not Nice track as well as Come and See Me, plus 14 other songs that fans should love. PARTYNEXTDOOR 3 can be pre-ordered on Itunes.
